The New Clubhouse
On 11 th November, the new Clubhouse was opened by the President, Mr H. Mount. Designed by Mr H. Anderson, the Clubhouse was described as having two floors with central heating throughout; the ground floor including a lounge, the bar, the Mens’ dressing room, the card room, the Ladies’ lounge and the Ladies’ dressing room, whilst on the first floor the Secretary’s office and the Steward’s quarters.
It was also mentioned that some of the Club’s grounds might be required for growing food, but the Government had stated that they would not use any ground which was being used for recreational purposes.
Most of the members were away in the Forces concluded the President, and he hoped that when they came back they would find even greener greens and a comfortable Clubhouse.
