As we head into tricky times, communication with our members and academy users is vital. Our weekly newsletter established at the beginning of this year has been hard work, but judging by the volume of feedback, a great success. At present we send out 1500 weekly newsletters via email, providing information on events at both the club and driving range. Developing the Academy on behalf of the golf club is our prime objective and we have managed to continue our record of producing over 1 winner a week since the Academy opened last year.
To date we have over 1000 Academy members and 6 local schools on board. We are now in partnership with the Kent Golf Union and provide regular squad coaching for both girls and boys. The popularity of the coaching is growing and the number of Kent players coming for tuition is increasing. In the not too distant future Canterbury Golf Academy will have produced some stars of the future.
We want to also announce that thanks to our Academy partners The Mary Edmondson Trust, we have invested in two Explanars that are arguably the finest training tool in the world today. Both aids (adult and junior models) will help you achieve swing improvements in such a short period of time you wouldn't think it possible.
Lessons are already underway with the Explanar and even at this early stage the results we are seeing are very encouraging.
We can't wait to see what ‘revolutionary' new technologies hit the market in 2009, but remember - all the technology in the world won't help your game unless it's properly fitted to your swing and you're willing to put in a few hours on the range working on your drills and skills!
