There is a winter green close to the front of the main green. If the temporary green is not in play, it must be treated as ‘ground under repair’ (local rule 9 and rule 25-1). If your ball comes to rest on the winter green, you cannot play it. You must take a free drop. First, determine the nearest point of relief
(see Hole 2 for how to do this).
Then, drop your ball within one club length of this spot.
The photograph above shows an incorrect drop, the photograph below a correct drop.
Note; neither the ball nor your feet can be on the green when play your next shot.
When you take relief, you must take full relief. This includes your feet when you take up your normal stance.
