Canterbury Golf Club

The Invicta League was founded in 2005 for clubs within the Kent and Sussex borders. There are three divisions and each division has five teams who play each other on a home and away basis.

Each team consists of 10 players and the format is four-ball betterball, with strokes taken from the lowest handicap player.

The maximum handicap is 18 and the minimum age limit is 18. Each team is allowed a maximum of three category 1 players per fixture.

A maximum of 15 points are on offer in each match, with three points for a win and one point for a half in the five games.

Relegated to Division 2 in 2014, Canterbury missed out on promotion by one point the following season but enjoyed an outstanding year in 2016 to win the league and gain promotion to Division 1.

Last season, Canterbury finished runners-up in the league, missing out on the title and promotion by one game.

This year the team is being run jointly by Micky Pilbeam and Richard Beer.
